We picked up the kids from school with a suitcase packed!! They had NO clue we were headed to the The Gaylord Hotel. It was only a forty minute drive and when we got there we could not believe our eyes!! I tweeted some of these pics but they were amazing:

An earlier visit to the Gaylord Hotel featured a film on how the Ice Production was created. I saw that it entailed Chinese workers that were flown into the Hotel to create ALL the Ice attractions by hand! There was an ice slide, Charlie Brown characters everywhere, and my favorite was the last room that featured this:

Love spontaneous family trips~ Looks like have some more awesome memories! We’re hoping to ice skate in City Park in New Orleans this year! They brought back the ice skating rink
I love having local places to visit!! Makes it nice because I love being home for Christmas!! Ice Skating sounds like a blast and I look forward to hearing all about it!! You are probably a Pro knowing you Joyce!!
This looks like something my kiddos would really enjoy! And from the photos I can tell you guys had a blast. I’m so glad my girls are getting older so we can do more fun stuff like this!
