Girls Gone Wild! <– No more!!
Not that I ever did anything like that but I certainly can’t start now!! No longer trying to meet up with MY friends or looking up “party” places!
Spring Break with kids IS different! It is so much fun but nothing like the college or single days! My oldest turns 10 this year and I still hear of all the cool things that go on during Spring Break or Mexico getaways but now it is all about family fun!
This Spring Break I spent a weekend in Austin, TX poolside and enjoying family. I love my boys and I realized how times have changed! I had the opportunity of accompanying my husband to the SxSW and to be honest we only went out 1 night!! We did not want to leave our kids or the hotel because Austin had the most amazing weather! (I did go to Coyote Ugly and it was a HOOT!! )
I’m talking “Mommy” Spring Break!
No more rushing out the door trying to beat the bell!
No more packing sack lunches.
No more “brush your teeth, comb your hair, tuck shirt in”
“Homework done?”
“Practice night?”
No more coffee on the go or rushing back and forth!
No more spelling words!!
Get to sleep in and enjoy the outdoors!
Other things I realized that have changed:
–Bye Bye Bikinis: I love throwing my kids up in the air, racing them, bending over to hug them and expect to get thrown in the pool at any given chance! I wear a one piece to avoid wardrobe malfunctions!
I love raising two beautiful wholesome boys that enjoy their family!! My crazy spring breaks are now part of the past but I am enjoying building memories with the people that define me and mean the most to me <my family>.
Side note: It is my first spring break without working and in the past I would use vacation days to be home with my boys! I do realize that with lap tops and phones now people take the time off but continue working.
Did you give yourself a break or work through it?

Oh I love mom spring break too! I love not having to get up early and getting to go to sleep later! I love spending time with my kids too. They are older 19, 18 are starting to part so I am holding tight to the 16 year old! Great Blog F. HUGS
I love the sound of a mom spring break.
I think every adult needs to take a Spring break, whether they have kids or not. Unplug everything and get outside, or go to Coyote Ugly
Thanks for the post. I feel refreshed already.
